Agra Club Golf Course, India (Agra)

T and I had a couple days to kill on the way back to Dehli. We figured we take the time to really immerse ourselves in Indian culture, so we hit the links.
The greens were uncannily well watered. The fairways, not so much, understandably so.. sometimes the lie was a little thin.
Caddies are mandatory at the Agra GC and provided some useful course info. Here's one explaining the relationship between the ball and it's "home" in the cup.
Where some have stray dogs, India has cows. Where some have canadian geese, India has more cows.
My play was a little poor. I figured the shirt was the problem.

I was searching for Images of Agra Golf Course because I played there in 1986 and wanted to write it up in some way on my blog..alongside Fajara Golf Course, The Gambia, and a few other courses where your surroundings are more enjoyable than the link to a golf pro with no architechtural experience. Can you still hire a caddy and the club pro for the round? My golf was never better. Really enjoyed your blog. I just have an armful of letters to family to show for my trips.

I played on Sunday 4th April 2010
a wonderful 92 round on the Par 72 9 hole golf course with 18 tees right in front of the Taj Mahal and near the Red Fort, Agras most important tourists attractions.

One golf Pro at the moment is
Lakhan Singh + 919719437699, very gently, who has also an Pro shop nearby ! Beautiful and good quality of T-Shirt with Agra Club Golf Course !

When You want to play there Green fe is at the moment 600 Rupies.
Caddies there are as much as You e
want or not ! I can recommand to take one or two, because they still have to live - 9 holes 90-100 Rupies, 18 holes 180-200 Rupies.
One very good is Sahid Khan, with a good knowledge of the course and some other good advises !

For europeans and americans Clubhouse is very poor, You can rent clubs and bag, no buggies !

Cold drinks can be supported by Your caddy, but he tries to cheet You. Number of caddies during Your playround seems to grow, but You have to pay only those from the beginning !

The Course belongs to Agra Club Ltd.. in April greens good kept, but slow, fairways dry an hard.
